Oh my goodness gracious. What an incredibly delectable concoction I had last night! I’m so excited to share it with you today. My wonderful friend Laura had the brilliant idea of watching “My Fair Lady” last night and making dessert. Musicals and sweets together…my dream come true.
Laura is a dessert queen (one of the many reasons we get along so well) and loves rhubarb and strawberries. She’d found a recipe for strawberry rhubarb cobbler and wanted to try it out. I didn’t object. Although I remember one time when I was about 9 that I was told part of the rhubarb plant was poisonous. That made me very skeptical about eating rhubarb growing up (how would I know which part was poisonous?), so I missed out on a lot of its goodness. I mean, who wants to drop dead while eating dessert? I’m so glad Laura has reaquainted me with the delicious…stalk?…and helped me get over my fear of being poisoned by a plant.
In between singing “I could have danced all night” and “Just you wait ‘enry ‘iggans” at the top of our lungs we devoured vibrantly heaping spoonfuls of strawberry rhubarb goodness topped with vanilla ice cream. It was bliss. Thank you, Laura! You are the best! I don’t have a picture, but here’s one from TasteFood, the food blog Laura got the recipe from. We made one big batch instead of individual servings. One little ramekin just wouldn’t have been enough 🙂

Oh, yum. You will HAVE to make that for/with me when you visit. I admit, I’ve never cooked with rhubarb and just tried it in a pie a year or two ago. Yum!
My Fairy Lady is awesome. I haven’t seen it in a while! I think it would be funny watching it while I live in “Higginsville”. 🙂
Thanks so much for the link. The best part is that it allowed me to discover your wonderful site!
You’re so welcome, Lynda! Your cobbler was scrumptious and the rest of your food looks delicious as well!
