Wedding creatives frequently look at the amazing work being produced by others in their field and feel a pang of jealously. For us in Montana, it’s hard not to yearn after the warm, vibrant springtimes that seem to arrive everywhere else and yet evade us. Early spring in Montana is often cold, dreary, and seemingly unending, and yet the stark, muted landscape can be strikingly beautiful if looked at with the right eyes. We began to understand that rather than fighting against the innate bleakness of the season, we needed to embrace it and look beneath the surface of the location and let its more subtle beauty shine. The soft pastel colors of the riverside and the subdued, restrained light of the season became our inspiration. After relaying our vision and inspiration to Darci of Greenwood Events, she expertly brought that vision to life. She wove the grey, slate blue and blush colors of the river rocks into the design of the tablescape and florals. A flowing silk table runner and linens from Tono & Co. mimicked the movement of the river. Cast Calligraphy’s exquisite paper goods played on the idea that an early mountain spring can be a monochrome season splattered with wet snow, yet under the surface it holds the promise of renewed life.
