Airbnb Amazingness

Have you guys heard of Airbnb?

Reid and I have been planning practically all of our honeymoon lodging using this fabulous website, which is described below in their own words:

“Airbnb is a trusted community marketplace for people to list, discover, and book unique accommodations around the world — online or from a mobile phone. Whether an apartment for a night, a castle for a week, or a villa for a month, Airbnb connects people to unique travel experiences, at any price point, in more than 33,000 cities and 192 countries.”

It’s INCREDIBLE! And I may have gotten a little obsessed with it. You can find places pretty much anywhere that will fit your budget. So, for example, Reid and I have been searching for private rooms and/or entire apartments or homes to stay in on our honeymoon when we travel to Ireland, Italy and Paris. We want to experience the culture as much as possible when we travel, so this fits us better than booking hotels everywhere (plus most of the time, it’s much more affordable than hotels). And you can make Wish Lists for places that catch your eye and want to save to possibly book later.

The other night as I was voraciously pouring over listings in Tuscany and saving them to our Italy Wish List, Reid looked over at me, saw that vacant-yet-wild look in my eyes, and said, “Are you pinning? You have that look you get when you’re on Pinterest.”

The man knows me well.

Me: “No I’m not pinning.”

Reid: “It looks like you were pinning.”

Oh fine. Yes. I was pinning.

I’d describe Airbnb as my Wanderlust pin board, but even better!!! Better because I was pinning houses in beautiful places that we might ACTUALLY GET TO STAY IN!!!

So if you’re planning a honeymoon, or anniversary trip, or vacation somewhere, I’d highly recommend searching on Airbnb. They have a pretty rigorous safety procedure, which means that you and your money will be protected.

Go check it out. View the Popular Wish List page to get a glimpse of the nifty listings. You might start “pinning,” too. It gets a bit addictive. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This is where we’ll be staying for a couple of nights in the Cotswolds in England (near Stratford-on-Avon, Shakespeare’s birthplace) before we venture on for the rest of our honeymoon.

This is an apartment we’re considering in Paris. SO charming! And we’d have it all to ourselves.
And this is what I was “pinning” when Reid caught me…this is where we’re hoping to stay in Tuscany. Can you say AMAZING?!?!?!? I know…we are two very blessed and lucky people. But seriously…Airbnb is making this actually affordable.
