Bring Me Sunshine

I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve posted. Really, it’s only been since Friday. But I feel like I’ve been slacking. To be fair, it was opening weekend for a play I’m in (Charley’s Aunt at The Blue Slipper Theatre in Livingston), Easter Sunday, and then my grandma had a bad fall and broke her hip, had a seizure, lost consciousness at the hospital and we weren’t sure if she was going to wake up. Sunday night was a scary night. She is doing much better now, but prayers will continue to be welcomed.

And then of course it snowed again. Which is why this song by The Jive Aces is particularly therapeutic at the moment. Reid played it for me earlier, and I immediately became totally smitten with it.

I LOVE the opening news montage…I was cracking up the entire time. Doesn’t life feel like that sometimes? The job market is bad, the government is incompetent, the weather is atrocious, an alligator is loose on the streets…you know…the typical drudges of daily life. It can feel like you are just being battered with every bad thing, right? But then you realize that sunshine does exist (thanks to Christ’s resurrection we just celebrated), life is actually full of wonder and love, and spreading happiness can be as easy as posting an encouraging and jiving song!

Hope this brings a smile to your face and that you are able to bring sunshine into someone’s life today!
