Mr. Darcy, Meet King George VI

Adding to my love of all things British (not that I need any reason to love Britain more than I already do – I’m a self-proclaimed Anglophile), Reid and I went to see “The King’s Speech” last night. Such a brilliant movie with such wonderful acting.

It was so refreshing to see Helena Bonham Carter in a role that didn’t make me think she had escaped from Azkaban. Geoffrey Rush was so endearing. I laughed almost every time he opened his mouth. The way he portrayed the speech therapist, Lionel Logue, made me have a deep respect for that man. His no-nonsense ways were  hilarious, but it was his heart that truly captured me.

And of course, there’s the king himself.

I. Love. Colin. Firth.

He’s brilliant in everything he does. No girl is ever the same after watching him as Mr. Darcy in the BBC’s “Pride & Prejudice.” Well, girls, now he’s been kinged.
